Green Bexley is the joint outreach branch of the City of Bexley’s Environmental Sustainability Advisory Committee (ESAC) and Sustainability Department. The Department of Sustainability directs and coordinates all sustainability-related functions of the City, and the ESAC is charged with meeting the mission and goals established in the adopted Bexley Zero Waste Plan, recommending to the City the implementation of programs and strategies as prioritized, and providing advice to the City on other green policies, environmental, sustainability and energy issues.
Green Bexley works to achieve these goals by educating, engaging, advocating, advising, and liaising.
Advocacy
Green Bexley works with local and state government officials to craft and testify for environmentally friendly legislature. Examples include Bexley’s Single Use Plastic ordinance and Ohio SB 222.
