About Green Bexley
Green Bexley is the joint outreach branch of the City of Bexley’s Environmental Sustainability Advisory Committee (ESAC) and Sustainability Department. The Department of Sustainability directs and coordinates all sustainability-related functions of the City, and the ESAC is charged with meeting the mission and goals established in the adopted Bexley Zero Waste Plan, recommending to the City the implementation of programs and strategies as prioritized, and providing advice to the City on other green policies, environmental, sustainability and energy issues.

Supporting Biodiversity with Love Your Alley
We celebrate collaboration, sustainability, creativity, and beauty by transforming under-utilized alleys into extended living space for everyone to enjoy. Residents work together to improve their alleys by adding benches, planting native plants, installing artwork, and more. These efforts make our city greener and support local pollinators
Ditching the Disposables with Okapi Cups and Containers
Bexley is a Central Ohio leader in reducing waste from single-use disposables. In 2024 we helped bring Okapi Reusables returnable coffee cups to S’Wonderful Times Café and Kitties Cakes (Bexley location). This summer, with support from SWACO and the City of Bexley, we will pilot-test a returnable food container program at six Bexley restaurants.
Keeping Goods In-Use with Repair Cafés
Do you have a broken lamp, temperamental toaster, or a favorite sweater in need of mending? Don’t throw it out – bring it to a Repair Café at the Bexley Public Library where local experts will attempt to repair your item free of charge. Hosted twice per year, in the spring and autumn.
